Nubank launches Protected Pix, enhanced security against theft and scams

São Paulo, November 4, 2025– Nubank, one of the world’s largest digital financial services platforms, is strengthening its commitment to customer security with the launch of Pix Protegido (Protected Pix). This new insurance coverage provides a shield against fraudulent transactions and financial losses resulting from card or cell phone theft and robbery. Developed in partnership with Chubb, a global insurance leader, Protected Pix is easily accessible right inside the Nu app and will be gradually made available to all eligible customers. The coverage is international, up to R$ 5,000 per year, with a monthly fee of R$ 6.99 and a limit of four annual incidents.

Furthermore, we continue to invest in financial education, informative content, and alerts to help customers identify and avoid scams before they happen,” states Marcio von Muhlen, General Manager of Insurance at Nubank.
Pix Protegido Coverage Includes the Following Situations:
- Transfers to scammers impersonating family members or payments via fake bank slips (boletos).
- Purchases from fake stores, where the customer makes the payment and never receives the product (coverage applies only in case of a scam, not for delivery issues or delays in online purchases made on legitimate platforms).
- Unrecognized financial transactions, carried out after cell phone or card theft.
- Financial transactions made under physical threat, including Pix, TEDs (Bank Transfer Orders), paid boletos, loans, and purchases.
The subscription is accessible through the Nu app’s insurance hub, and payment is made via credit card or Nubank account, with annual renewal and monthly payments. It is possible to cancel the protection at any time, with or without a refund of the last invoice. For more details, customers should consult the Terms and Conditions in the application.
