Otávio Ribeiro Damaso joins Nubank as an advisor for regulatory and risk management affairs

Damaso served as the Director of Regulation at the Central Bank of Brazil from 2015 to 2024 and brings to Nu his extensive experience in the financial sector

São Paulo, July 4,  2025 –  Nu, one of the largest digital financial services platforms in the world, announces Otávio Ribeiro Damaso as an advisor for regulatory and risk management affairs, after completing a six months cooling off period as determined by the Central Bank. Damaso will serve as a permanent observer of Nu Holdings Ltd.’s Audit and Risk Committee and of Nu Brazil’s Risk Committee. He will also advise Nu Group as a consultant on any issues related to business or risk environments.

Damaso brings extensive experience in the financial and regulatory sectors. He served as the Director of Regulation at the Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen) from 2015 to 2024 and was Chief of Staff to the President of the Central Bank from 2011 to 2015. Prior to his roles at Bacen, he was the Deputy Secretary for Economic Policy at the Ministry of Finance from 2003 to 2008 and a member of the National Council of Private Insurance (CNSP) during two separate terms (2004-2007 and 2015-2024). Additionally, he chaired the Board of Directors of Caixa Econômica Federal, IRB, and the Bank of the State of Ceará. Damaso holds a degree in Economics from the University of Brasília.
