Nu Colombia partners with Redeban to offer free and instant transfers

Bogotá, March 10, 2025 – Nu Colombia continues to innovate with financial solutions that give its customers greater control over their finances. From now on, using Redeban’s keys (ID number, cell phone number, email address, or alphanumeric identifier), customers can send and receive money instantly to and from any bank or digital wallet that is part of the Redeban network. This new feature complements the free and unlimited transfers that have always been a distinctive feature of the Nu Account.

Through the Nu app, account users can register their Keys to receive money instantly from any financial entity in the country, guaranteeing ease, security, and immediacy in every transaction.

This announcement is part of Nu’s purpose to transform the future of finance and is the first step towards Bre-B, which is Nu Colombia’s priority in terms of technology, innovation, and inclusion.

How do the keys work in Redeban’s immediate transfer system?

The keys are the identification in the world of digital payments. People can use:

• Alphanumeric identifiers like the Nu Key (“@” + Nu Plate)
• Cell phone number
• Email address
• ID number

Each key is unique and can only be connected to one account. So when someone wants to receive money, they just need to share one of their keys registered with Nu.

It’s worth highlighting that from the moment Redeban is available in the Nu application, customers will be able to have an instant experience and, as always, send money for free to other participating entities.
