The tool, which automates and streamlines bill management, saw nearly 170% growth in one year, reaching approximately 22 million customers in September

São Paulo, October 17, 2024 – Over the past 12 months, from last October to September, Nubank customers collectively saved more than 750,000 hours—which is roughly equivalent to 85 and a half years—by using the Payments Assistant in the app, according to a company survey. The tool functions as a personal assistant, proactively providing notifications and suggestions for better management and organization of bills, as well as automating manual and repetitive tasks.
Time savings are calculated based on the average time spent sending a Pix transfer, paying bills, or settling the “roxinho” or Ultravioleta credit card statement. Through the Payments Assistant, Nubank offers customers the option to schedule Pix transactions, set up automatic debits for utility bills and credit card statements, and use the Boleto Finder, which aggregates registered bank boletos under the customer’s CPF or CNPJ.
“Nubank’s Payments Assistant is the result of leveraging technology and is a fundamental element in our mission to serve customers as a personal assistant at different stages of managing their finances. Beyond financial services, we aim to optimize your time and resources with personalized, unbiased, and accurate recommendations,” explains Livia Chanes, CEO of Nubank in Brazil.
Usage growth of approximately 170%
By the end of September, Nubank’s Payments Assistant reached 21.8 million customers with at least one scheduled payment—a 168% increase compared to the 8.1 million recorded in October 2023.
Pix Programado and Buscador de Boletos stand out
Aligned with Nubank’s commitment to eliminating complexity in financial services, the adoption growth of the Payments Assistant highlights the automation of Pix transactions and the intuitive service provided by the Buscador de Boletos.
Launched in 2022, Pix Programado saw a 121% increase in the number of customers adopting this automation, with 108% more accounts paid this way from October 2023 to September 2024. This feature allows both individuals and businesses to schedule transfers, automating their recurring monthly payments via Pix. Users can choose the amounts and start dates for their payments and can cancel transactions at any time.
During the same period, the Buscador de Boletos also made significant strides: the number of users utilizing the function increased by 117%, while the volume of settled commitments grew by 109%. The number of consents given to Nubank to integrate each customer’s registered bank boletos into the app surged by 127%.
Nubank’s Payments Assistant is available at no additional cost to all customers in Brazil and can be accessed directly from the app’s home screen. There, customers are presented with upcoming payments due in the next few days and can click to schedule bills or authorize automatic debits, as well as view their registered bank boletos.
