Nubank eliminates fees on cryptocurrency trades to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day

São Paulo, May 20, 2025 – To celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day, Nubank announces the waiver of fees on all cryptocurrency trades on its platform for 24 hours, starting at 8 a.m. on May 22. This promotion is valid for all customers who use the Nu app for crypto operations.

Pizza Day commemorates the anniversary of the first commercial transaction with Bitcoin, which occurred in 2010 when programmer Laszlo Hanyecz used 10,000 units of the cryptocurrency to purchase two pizzas. According to the story, this was the first time someone reported using digital currency to acquire a physical good.

• Price Alerts: Activate the tool to receive notifications whenever the value of your desired crypto asset rises or falls.
• Cryptocurrency Swap: Trade all crypto assets for the digital dollar USDC—and vice versa. The exchange occurs directly with reduced fees. Access this function within the cryptocurrencies section of the app by clicking the “Swap” button on the home screen.
• USDC Rewards: The program offers daily returns on a minimum balance of 10 USDC in wallets, with a fixed rate of 4% yearly. To start receiving rewards, access the crypto wallet in the Nubank app and click “I Want to Participate.” This feature can be activated or deactivated at any time. Returns are credited automatically every day, and liquidity is immediate.
