Instituto Nu and Descomplica open 7,000 vacancies for students in technology education program

With affirmative vacancies, the course is 100% online; enrolment is open until February 26

São Paulo, February 16, 2023 – Instituto Nu, Nubank’s social impact initiative, announces the opening of 7,000 vacancies for students interested in the technology sector. The fully online program was developed in partnership with Descomplica, the largest edtech company in Latin America, and focuses on people aged 18 and over who live in a situation of social vulnerability. Free registration runs until February 26th.

In the first phase, which started in 2022, students developed more than 400 projects and 70% have already received their certificates. For this second phase, the expectation is to start classes in March. The thousands of selected students will undergo a digital training cycle, with recorded and live classes, support material, and technical assessments, and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the 15-week course. There will also be opportunities for interaction to clarify doubts and exchange with technology professionals.

“We learned a lot from the first classes, which reached four thousand students in 2022, but the most important thing was to see the impact this type of course has on these students’ lives. It is an initiative fully aligned with our mission to generate positive social impact, and we want to continue improving to deliver an even better program in 2023”, says Marisa Santana, project manager at Instituto Nu.

In addition to the technical content, there will be 100 hours of front-end web development classes (with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), agile methodologies (with UX and Design Thinking) and the course will also feature subjects relevant to the job market, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Soft Skills, and Project Management. To facilitate access to content, there is a partnership with an internet operator that ensures that students do not need to use their data packages to access the platform’s content.

“Descomplica was born to democratize teaching and deliver quality education. Now, we have teamed up again with Instituto Nu, which also fights for more democratic and egalitarian scenarios in the market through education. We hope to form and qualify even more students in an area that is growing and prospering so much”, Marco Fisbhen, CEO of Descomplica.

Affirmative vacancies

Entries can be made via the program’s website. Among the vacancies available on the platform, 50% will be reserved for Black & Brown people, with 30% exclusively for Black & Brown women.
