Livia Chanes becomes CEO of Nubank’s Brazilian operation
Livia began her journey at Nubank as Product VP, nearly four years ago, and had been leading the Brazilian operation as Country Manager since the second half of 2022

São Paulo, January 22, 2024 – Nubank, one of the largest digital financial services platforms in the world, announces that Brazil Country Manager Livia Chanes will join Nu Holdings’s management team, taking the position of CEO Brazil.
Livia began her journey at Nubank as VP of Product, nearly four years ago, and became Brazil Country Manager in the second half of 2022. Under her leadership, Nu Brazil gained 20 million new customers and launched more than 50 new products and services, including new tools for entrepreneurs, security solutions such as Modo Rua, credit cards in Braille, and payroll loans.
“I have always believed in the power of creating and delivering high-impact solutions, always prioritizing the well-being and simplifying the financial lives of our customers. More than half of Brazilian adults are Nu customers, and we are focused on continuing to increase our market share in several markets, leveraging technology on behalf of the consumer”, says the new CEO of Nubank Brazil.
Nubank’s co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, Cristina Junqueira, remains responsible for the company’s overall growth, with a doubled focus on international expansion, particularly around scaling the company’s Mexican operation, which has already reached 5.5 million customers, as well as in Colombia, where Nu has just obtained its license to operate as a regulated financial institution.
