Nu and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Unveil One-of-a-Kind Race Suits and Special Activation for the 2026 Miami Grand Prix

For the 1st time in the team’s history, drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will wear three different suits across the race weekend, all purple, each encoding a chapter of Nu's story, from its origins in São Paulo to its arrival in the U.S.

MIAMI, FL, April 27th, 2026. Nu (NYSE: NU), one of the world’s largest digital financial services platforms serving over 130 million customers, and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team today unveiled a landmark activation for the 2026 Miami Grand Prix (May 1–3). At the heart of this activation is a first-of-its-kind race suit design, a new brand film featuring drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, and House of Nu, a three-day physical experience in Miami’s Wynwood neighbourhood.

As one of the most-watched events on the Formula 1 calendar, Miami Grand Prix marks the first time the partnership announced in January 2026 takes the track in full force, grounded in the concept ‘Setting Nu Expectations’, through which Nu and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team celebrate their relentless drive to raise the bar and redefine what’s possible.

The suits, the film, House of Nu in Wynwood, it all reflects that shared DNA. And there is no better stage than Miami to bring all of it to life for fans and customers.”

Three Suits. One Story.

For the first time in the team’s history, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team will  feature three distinct designs for each day of  the race weekend, all in Nu’s purple, each carrying embedded coordinates that trace a chapter of Nu’s expansion: 

  • Friday’s suit features the coordinates of the Casinha, Nu’s original office in Sao Paulo, the place where the company was founded in 2013. 
  • Saturday’s suit maps Nu’s expansion through Latin America, with coordinates referencing its offices in Mexico and Colombia. 
  • Sunday’s suit adds the coordinates of Nu Stadium, the brand new home of Inter Miami CF and the physical marker of Nu’s arrival in the United States.

To mark the reveal, Nu and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team are releasing “A Nu Direction”, a brand film featuring drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. The film stars content creator and entertainer Victor Kunda as the designer tasked with creating a special race suit for the Grand Prix, and follows the two drivers as they walk through concept after concept, failing to find something special enough. Until one idea changes everything: purple.

Running alongside the race weekend, Nu is opening House of Nu, a three-day physical activation at 116 NW 25th Street at Wynwood, in which visitors will move through a curated experience featuring the race suits, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 memorabilia, an interactive AR experience and fun items representing the partnership to take home.

Nu’s Next Chapter: The United States.

The Miami Grand Prix marks a key milestone in Nu’s brand-building strategy as it prepares to expand into the United States. Partnering with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, alongside its naming rights partnership with Inter Miami CF and Nu Stadium, reflects the company’s approach to establishing brand presence and trust in a new market, by showing up in the spaces that matter to its future customers.

In January 2026, Nu received conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for the formation of a de novo national bank. Once fully approved, the national bank charter will allow Nu to offer deposit accounts, credit cards, lending and other products under a comprehensive federal framework.
