Nubank PJ account has new feature to issue and pay MEI taxes

São Paulo, May 11, 2023 – Nubank, one of the largest digital financial services platforms in the world, announces a new exclusive tool for MEI PJ account clients: a center to issue and pay taxes. Called My MEI Taxes, the new feature allows users to take care of their company’s tax obligations in a single place without the need to issue and pay the DAS (Documento de Arrecadação do Simples Nacional – the mandatory tax for MEIs) using other apps or websites, in a fast and safe way.

On average, Brazilian companies spend about 1,500 hours a year to prepare, declare and pay taxes, according to a World Bank study. The subject is considered complex and bureaucratic, and the process of issuing and paying the mandatory tax for MEIs can also be confusing and impact the customer experience – as it requires the use of two or more apps or websites responsible for issuing or paying, which needs to be done every month.

With the My MEI Taxes feature, customers can issue and pay their DAS tax directly from the Nubank app without the need to log into other IRS systems or other providers that provide this service to issue the slip and scan for payment. In addition, they can receive monthly reminders to keep their DAS payment up to date, receive real-time payment confirmation, view past and future tax payments without leaving the app, and pay their taxes using their PJ account balance or credit card.
