Nubank’s Helena Bertho is recognized as one of the 100 most influential people of African descent in the world

São Paulo, October 3, 2022 – The global director of Diversity & Inclusion at Nubank, Helena Bertho, participated this past weekend in the Most Influential 100 Recognition Week 2022, Mipad, at the UN headquarters in New York. The award recognized the 100 most influential people of African descent in the world under the age of 40. Helena is the only Brazilian in the Business and Entrepreneurship category.

In her career of almost 20 years, the executive has been working with innovation within the perspective of people, communications, business, and impact, seeking, through inclusive initiatives, to break paradigms to bring more plurality and relevance to brands as a value perceived by employees, customers, and society. “Receiving a recognition like this is an honor and I am very happy to be able to make my work a vector of impact for people, who are what really matter”, he says.

One of the main communication names in Brazil, Helena is an advertising professional and, at Nubank, leads the company’s Diversity & Inclusion area since October 2021, currently overseeing its more than seven thousand employees. Before Nubank, she worked in large multinationals such as L’Oréal and Coca-Cola.

“There are two things I never stopped doing: questioning spaces and promoting actions. I always ask myself: ‘who is in the room when we design the future?’. After all, it’s only the future if it fits all people. I believe and defend that Diversity & Inclusion is more than an area, it is a perspective that directs us to think about how we do business. We must have intentionality, and we are committed and want to influence the entire sector”, concludes the executive.
