São Paulo, June 19, 2026 – Nubank announces that NuCel, its virtual mobile network service, has surpassed the 1-million-customer milestone. The result, achieved one and a half years after the start of operations in January 2025, reflects the company’s strategy of integrating connectivity into its financial ecosystem and deepening relationships with its more than 115 million customers in Brazil.
Designed to simplify the mobile experience, NuCel operates with lock-in-free plans, 100% digital sign-up through the Nubank app, nationwide coverage, and 5G connection. All plans include unlimited access to WhatsApp and the Nu app, along with an exclusive Caixinha Turbo (Turbo Money Box) with a yield of 120% of the CDI. The service also offers real-time adjustment suggestions based on the user’s profile.
“Reaching 1 million customers confirms that Brazilians value a simple and transparent proposal that returns autonomy to people. NuCel also shows how Nubank is becoming increasingly present in the lives of those who already trust us to look after their money, expanding our impact on the lives of millions of Brazilians,” says Livia Chanes, CEO of Nubank in Brazil.
Over the 17 months since the operation began, the offering has evolved with new benefits and sign-up modalities. In 2025, Nubank made physical SIM cards available, expanding access to devices without eSIM support, and introduced GB Reserve—an exclusive feature in the Brazilian market that automatically ensures extra data when the monthly allowance is about to run out, at no additional cost. The possibility to pay via Nubank Account balance was added, in addition to credit cards. In 2026, the plans were extended to youth aged 16 to 18, blending mobile services and financial education for new generations.
“From day one, NuCel was built on the same principles that guide Nubank: transparency and customer service that respects people. The growth figures and satisfaction rates we are recording reflect exactly that choice,” says Bruna Costa, product director for NuCel.
The milestone also demonstrates the solidity of the partnership with Claro, which provides NuCel’s personal mobile service. The combination of Claro’s network reach and Nubank’s expertise in developing customer-centric digital products has underpinned the consistent growth of the base since launch.
“NuCel shows what is possible when two companies act with real complementarity. This result confirms the relevance of MVNOs in our strategy and the ability to expand our reach through new partnerships. Our expectation is to consolidate a new standard for the future of telecommunications in Brazil,” highlights Carlos Araújo, Director of New Business at Claro.
