São Paulo, March 19 – Nubank, one of the world’s largest digital financial services platforms, was included for the fourth time in Fast Company’s prestigious World’s Most Innovative Companies list. Nu is #1 in the Latin America category and 22nd place in the global ranking. The annual list recognizes businesses at the forefront of their industries, driving innovative solutions and shaping the future.
“Nubank’s consistent presence in Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies list is a statement of our commitment to pushing boundaries and driving progress. Throughout our first decade, we have been providing innovative solutions that simplify banking and improve the lives of millions of customers, proving that our model is the future of financial services. Now, we are determined to introduce an even wider range of offerings that reduce bureaucracy in various aspects of people’s lives, democratizing a technological and personalized experience for all,” said David Vélez, CEO and Founder of Nubank.
Fast Company highlights how Nubank is transforming bank security into a covetable set of features. Among the notable innovations recognized by the magazine is Modo Rua (Street Mode, in English), an in-app security tool – easily activated with one click – that allows customers to set transaction limits for Pix, TED, and boleto payments, when their devices are not connected to a secure Wi-Fi network. The publication also mentioned Me Roubaram (I was robbed, in English), as part of Nubank’s support to protect users after a smartphone or credit card theft, blocking them quickly and safely. Fast Company also highlights Alô Protegido, a feature that automatically blocks suspicious phone calls from fake customer service centers, preventing scams. In addition, the article mentioned the solidity and growth of Nubank addressing that the company added almost 20 million new customers from October 2022 to October 2023, and grew profitability in Q3’2023 to $303 million.
This is the second year in a row that Nu has earned #1 in Latin America, thanks to prioritizing financial solutions while developing features based on customers’ needs and suggestions. Last year, Nu was recognized in the list for the development of Caixinhas (Money Boxes), a feature for customers to personalize their savings which gives them more autonomy to save and invest by defining personal goals.
